After-hours attention

A defined plan for the hours beyond your office.

When the property office closes, responsibilities continue. After-hours monitoring starts with a practical agreement about what should be observed, when it should be observed and who can respond.

The right hours

Build the schedule around the property.

An after-hours schedule might focus on evenings, overnight periods or another agreed window. NETEX must confirm availability and the observation arrangement for the selected cameras; continuous human viewing of every feed should never be assumed.

Record the property’s local time zone, daylight-saving treatment, public-holiday arrangements and the person authorised to request a schedule change. These details matter when property and monitoring teams operate in different locations.

Monitoring window

Agreed start and end times with the relevant property time zone.

Night-time views

A review of illumination, glare, infrared performance and likely obstructions.

Out-of-hours contacts

Primary and backup people with clear authority to make the next decision.

The response plan

An alert needs a reachable decision-maker.

A contact list is only useful if the nominated people know their responsibilities. Agree the situations that require contact, the approved communication methods and the next step when the first contact cannot be reached.

Emergency-service involvement follows the agreed procedure and local circumstances. Remote observation does not guarantee automatic police dispatch, attendance or a particular response time.

Next-day visibility

Make handovers useful to the daytime team.

An agreed report can separate routine observations from escalated concerns and identify matters that still require property follow-up. Include a clear time reference so your team can compare the observation with other site records.

Night-time monitoring remains dependent on connectivity, camera availability and usable images. Known faults and changes to coverage should be addressed through the agreed operating process.

Questions, answered

Clear expectations.
From the beginning.

Every property is different. The right scope starts with the right questions.

Understand the process
Can I request overnight-only monitoring?

You can discuss a defined overnight schedule with NETEX. Availability, selected cameras and the observation arrangement must be assessed and agreed.

What happens when nobody answers an escalation call?

The written instructions should specify backup contacts and permitted next steps. These arrangements need to be agreed before monitoring starts.

Is every camera watched continuously overnight?

Not unless that exact arrangement has been explicitly agreed. Monitoring hours and camera access alone do not establish continuous human viewing of every feed.
